Winter is coming...in 22 weeks

I know, I know, I've been M.I.A. for a while, but I have a good reason...Cassius. I've been trying to keep up with that crazy kid. He's definitely a hand-full, toy-thief, attention whore, etc... Grrrr.
He's a real boy -->

It's been a few months since the last time I posted. I will be turning 5 years old next month (about 35 in dog years) and Cash will be 1 (about 7 in dog years). Holy cow--where has the time gone? He's like a real dog now. Scary...

So not a lot has changed. The squirrels are still over-populated and trying to take over my neighborhood. Cash and Moe are good--causing trouble like normal. Our neighbor got a puppy around the same time as Cash arrived. They are buds and play a lot and dig holes in the backyard. #smh

<-- PTFO

Oh yeah, there have been a few new things that I almost forgot to mention. We have a new house-mate, Nat. She is awesome and a ginger! She always gives me and Cash lots of love!:) She moved in during the summer. I protect her and her room from the evil cat when I'm not hogging Julie's bed. She used to take us for long walks until we accidentally broke her foot. Cash and I are both very sorry.
Protecting the sleeping quarters from Moe -->

Another change--Julie's outdoor football season finally came to an end. They fell short of the championship game again. Now she can actually spend time with us, instead of leaving us forever on the weekends! Here's my rant for the day: Cash keeps getting special car-rides. Julie knows that I f*cking love car-rides, and yet I still don't get to go with. Growl.

On another note, yesterday we got to go to the groomers! I kind of like going there. I feel all shexy when they are done. Haha Cash on the other hand is traumatized for life. First of all--he hates car-rides. He also does not like strangers, especially strangers brushing and washing him. He was not a happy camper. At least he smells good now.

<-- We are ultimate pillow pets

So we both have claimed Julie's bed as our own. I take the middle and then Cash takes whatever side seems to have more room, leaving Julie with the crack by the wall. It's always a fun game when Moe tries to find a spot on the bed. I tell Cash I'll give him some of my kibble if he chases her away. I never do, but he always falls for it.

This guy is a bed hog -->

I will post again sooner than later, and I will leave you with these fun facts for your awesome Monday: *Information adapted from the examiner.com.
  1. Halloween candy sales average about $2 billion annually in the United States.
  2. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups rank as the most popular Halloween candy, followed by Life Savers, Baby Ruth, Tootsie Rolls and Milky Way. M&Ms and Hershey bars are also very popular.
  3. Halloween is the 2nd most commercially successful holiday, with Christmas being the first.
  4. Pumpkins also come in white, blue and green.
  5. The Count Dracula Society was founded in 1962.
  6. To this day, there are vampire clubs and societies filled with members who claim to be real vampires.
  7. Medieval stone carvers crafted gargoyles to ward off evil spirits.

  10. The setting of the “Halloween” movie is in Illinois, but the vehicles have California license plates.

Just Checking In...

Hello all--
I know it's been a very long time since I last posted. My apologies. It's been a crazy past couple of months. Reason being, Julie decided that she needed another fur baby in her life.

So let me welcome you to Cassius...aka "Cash". He’s about 5 ½ months old now. He’s a red Siberian Husky with ice blue eyes.

Cash isn't fat--he's just a little husky:)

He came from Sleepy Hollow Huskies out in Eureka IL. He was the last pick of the litter (I'm still trying to figure that one out)

I know Julie had been contemplating another dog for a while. She thought that I was lonely and could use some "friendly" companionship. I guess the name Moe and the word friendly don’t quite match up.

Anyways, he’s pretty cool, but he keeps me on my toes more so than I’d like. Never a dull/quiet moment now.:) I'm a sucker for Huskies.

Cash has about doubled in size since the day he came home.
His hobbies are:
Peeing
Eating socks (whole)
Cuddling
Water
Treats
Squirrels
Eating my fur (weirdo)
Naps
Long walks on the beach
Candle lit dinners
Look out ladies...

Til next time, hopefully sooner than later:)

The 3 Day Weekend...

Happy Tuesday!
This past weekend was great! Saturday I went to PetSmart! I got a new toy and now I'm so fresh and so clean! Sunday I had to sit in the car for a hot minute during Julie's soccer game, but then I got to go for an awesome walk! I walked on ice for the first time, sniffed a bunch of new smells, and marked my territory over little bitch dogs! We Ready! We ready! We ready! For Y'alllllll! What time is it? Game time! What time is it? Game time! There's a dog in the house, woof woof! Sunday was also full of football and some movies.

Monday was MLK day. For those of you that don’t know, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a United States federal holiday marking the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year, which is around the time of King's birthday, January 15. The floating holiday is similar to holidays set under the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, though the act predated the establishment of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by 15 years.

King was the chief spokesman for nonviolent activism in the civil rights movement, which successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state law. The campaign for a federal holiday in King's honor began soon after his assassination in 1968. Ronald Reagan signed the holiday into law in 1983, and it was first observed on January 20, 1986. At first, some states resisted observing the holiday as such, giving it alternative names or combining it with other holidays. It was officially observed in all 50 states for the first time in 2000.

Today I will leave you with my favorite MLK quote.
“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear”
Do you have a favorite quote? Feel free to share.

Life in the Garage

Happy Holidays everyone!!!
I wanted to start today's blog off with wishing all of you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday.

So it all started with a car ride. Little did I know that this car ride would end up with me staying in a garage for an eternity. Ok ok, it was only Saturday night thru Tuesday afternoon, but seriously where is the humanity. I made sure to voice my opinion on this matter for a good 2 days. It was terrible - no couch to snooze on or TV to watch my favorite shows. However, there was a cat...a black cat. She was not very pleased that I was visiting. She'll probably blog about this...(Ebbyskingdom.blogspot.com).

So for Christmas, I made out pretty well. I got 2 new huge raw-hide bones, some milk bones, and new dragon toy. You know who you are, and thank you for the gifts!:)

Julie's uncle and 2 cousins came to the shindig to celebrate the holiday and go sledding. While sledding I was concerned about the speed of the sleds. To regulate this, I would chase the person on the sled down the hill and either grab the sled or the person to make them go faster or slow down. I think it worked. I'm very tired today.

Today's fun fact: Us newfs love to play in snow...almost, but not quite as much as water!

Cake Shake Anonymous (CSA)

Hello, my name is Cabo and I am addicted to cake shakes. I have been clean for about 3 days now. I'm opening up to you today because I have come to the realization that I have a problem.

Now I must confess, I've never really even had a cake shake before, but that's not the point today. Ahhhh cake shake. There is just something about the way they smell that makes me go crazy--almost like when I see a squirrel. Yum!....

Anyways. I apologize for my lack of blog motivation lately. I decided to take a little break from the technology world and to embrace my surroundings and appreciate the little things in life... like:
barking, cake shakes, terrorizing Moe, destruction of all squirrel and squirrel related creatures, water, cat treats, glass licking and helping Julie wrap Christmas presents.

Here are some interesting dog facts for you!

1. When it comes to humans, fingerprints play a major role in identification. Did you know that my nose print is as unique as your fingerprint?
2. On average, at least 70% of people all over the world sign their dog's name on a greeting cards along with the rest of the family.:)
3. We were one of the first animals to be domesticated by man. This happened about 12,000 years ago.
4. My body contains 319-321 bones.

While Julie was gone...

Last week was Thanksgiving. Julie left me, again. <Sigh>

I really didn’t think she was coming back this time, but she did! She left to go visit family in Canada (where I originate from).

On the plus side, I had a bunch of visitors! I got to see my Steph and Chris! I love when they visit! Especially when Chris comes over, because he mushes my face!

I also spent some time with Danny! He watched me for the duration of Julie’s absence. It was awesome! We stalked squirrel together. Took naps. Watched football all the time! Took more naps.  Oh yeah, the FIGHTING IRISH won! WOOT!!!

I finally was starting to adjust to this new routine, and then Danny and I went for a car ride. I had my head out the window enjoying the awesome breeze and Chicago smells, then all of sudden we were at the airport and there Julie was. I was so excited I could pee, but I didn’t. I was super excited for about 5 minutes until I remembered how upset I was about her leaving me. I ignored her for the rest of the night.

Today I will leave you with some interesting facts about famous Newfoundlands.
We are pretty bad-ass! (Information provided by Wikipedia)

New Apartment! Sweet....

Hello.
This past weekend flew by. Julie was home (for once) and it was awesome! I got to wake her up bright and early everyday... just because I can:).

Danny came over just to see me! We played tug-tug with one of my favorite toys. I wiped some of my awesome drool on him when he wasn't looking. I win!

GO IRISH! They need one, single victory in LA to have the chance to capture their first title since 1988. Woot! And the Packers won too;)

Anyways, let me tell you about this new place. There is sooo much room! I can chase Moe, look out windows and sleep wherever I want! There's even a backyard where I can roam unleashed! Awesome!!!

The windows are cool because I can see airplanes and SQUIRRELS. Sometimes Moe will get caught up in staring out the window and that's when I sneak attack her. She freaks out. It's great!

Thanksgiving is almost here. I can't wait! I like me some turkey! Mix it up on the dry food. Om nom nom....

Fun fact of the day:
Today in history (1863), Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address at the dedication of the national cemetery on the Civil War battlefield of Gettysburg, Pa.
